The teaching process of the Middle School of Mosso blends the principle of cooperative learning of English origin with the approach and awareness of students to the territory and its protection locally and beyond. The classes are not made up of rows of desks and students who listen and transcribe the words of the teachers, but of children who, working together in groups, find the answers. The professor is there to help them pull the strings and put the pieces together.
The best-known project is "Non si s-Budelli l’Italia", with the crowfounding initiative of students to keep the island of Budelli (in the Maddalena archipelago in Sardinia) public and safeguard it. “Cascina Aunei” is one of the first projects proposed by Giuseppe Paschetto. It is a private farmhouse in which have been installed didactic panels and a naturalistic itinerary with an orchard for the botany activity available to students. Students also participate in the GAS (School Mountaineering Group) or trekking days organized in collaboration with the CAI. Professors and students also started an initiative in the field of environmental protection against the deforestation of mangroves in Indonesia to produce shrimp farming tanks.
