Filatura Astro, for more than 60 years, has been producing regenerated yarns from pre and post-consumer cotton and wool scraps. The process begins with the recovery of the scraps of cotton or wool fabric deriving from the waste of the garment packaging. The cuttings are frayed to recreate a cotton or wool fiber. In this way, the recycled fiber is given new life and is trimmed into new packages. The yarn produced passes to weaving and knitting, which will be able to obtain completely eco-sustainable fabrics. Since it is a waste material, if it were not recovered, it would be destined for pulping. The saving of resources such as water, electricity and chemical dyes is substantial and with great benefits for the environment.
